Digital Media Co-ordinator (Fixed Term)

Applications are invited for a Digital Media Co-ordinator in the Cambridge Admissions Office (CAO), a post that is central to the provision of film and digital resources for the University's prospective applicants and their supporters.

Films are one of the most important means of communicating with prospective applicants and encouraging suitably qualified students to apply to the University. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the development and delivery of engaging film resources to support the undergraduate and graduate application processes, and that will meet the needs of the widest possible audience. This will involve the post-holder liaising with colleagues and stakeholders across the University, an external film company, and students; planning content and messaging; overseeing filming and editing; evaluating impact; and producing in-house film projects. The post-holder will also be involved in the ongoing production and development of other digital media.

Applicants should be educated to at least first degree level, and have experience of project or event management and of using digital and social media in a professional context. They should have excellent IT and communication skills, be able to write engaging copy and have high levels of attention to detail. This is a varied and busy role so applicants must be highly organised, and capable of managing their workload and problem-solving in order to meet deadlines while maintaining the highest standards.

Admissions and Data Services Administrator

Applications are invited for the position of Admissions Administrator based in the Cambridge Admissions Office (CAO).

The post is situated in the Admissions and Data Services Team, which supports the 29 Colleges in all aspects of the undergraduate application process (including the pre-application stage). The team processes over 19,000 applications a year and takes a lead on key functions such as UCAS, the Supplementary Application Questionnaire, the Cambridge Online Preliminary Application, Subject Moderation, Admissions Assessments, the Winter and Summer Pools, overseas interviews and processes the vast majority of applicant examination results.

The role holder will be responsible to the Deputy Head of Admissions and Data Services for overseeing the process of undergraduate applications to Colleges received via CAO, including checking information, and correcting and verifying data where appropriate. The role holder will be required to take a lead on dealing with admissions assessment enquiries and processes and will ensure Colleges are provided with full information on admissions policies and processes including arranging the annual update of the Admissions Administrators' Guide.

The role holder will provide high level administrative support to the Head of Admissions and Data Services, particularly in relation to committee servicing, admissions process/best practice benchmarking activities.

The role holder will be expected to support those responsible for ensuring that admissions data is accurate and constantly ready for reporting purposes. The role holder will work closely with other members of the team to service incoming data requests from colleagues in Colleges, departments and administrative units within the University.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring resources meet the needs of the widest possible audience, working with colleagues to identify and implement the improvements needed to achieve this. This will involve the post-holder liaising with colleagues and stakeholders across the University; working with external companies, and students; conducting market research; commissioning and collating photography; copy writing, planning content and messaging; overseeing changes to website structures; and evaluating impact.

Communications Manager (Fixed Term)

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 December 2020 in the first instance.

The University of Cambridge is seeking an experienced full-time Communications Manager to support the work of the Graduate Admissions Office on a fixed term contract until 31st December 2020.

The Graduate Admissions Office is responsible for the admission of students to doctoral and non-doctoral postgraduate courses at the University of Cambridge. The office currently receives in excess of 20,000 applications annually from UK and International students.

The Communications Manager will develop, implement, maintain and review an effective multi-channel internal and external communications strategy on behalf of the Graduate Admissions Office to attract, retain and recruit applicants, develop positive relations with all stakeholders across the University and to raise the profile of postgraduate admissions.

The Communications Manager is also responsible for ensuring the delivery of effective and efficient resolution of enquiries from applicants, prospects and staff, and exploring suitable solutions for enquiry management. They will work closely with the Head of Graduate Admissions, the Student Recruitment Team, and will be supported by two assistant staff.
