The Postgraduate Outreach Scheme offers graduate students paid opportunities to receive training and deliver academic sessions to young people who visit the university on our outreach events. The students currently on the scheme make a huge difference to the success of our outreach events, whilst providing valuable teaching experience for graduate students. Follow the links below for information on roles available, including payment information and how to apply.

There are two main roles within the Postgraduate Outreach Scheme that you can apply for:

  • Event Supervisors (for any graduate student) - This is an opportunity for any graduate students. Event Supervisors are responsible for supervising groups of young people whilst they attend a range of widening participation events, making sure that they are well-supported to make the most of the opportunity.

  • Session Leaders (for PhD students who have two or more years of study left in Cambridge or PGCE students) - Throughout the year a team of PhD and PGCE students, known as Session Leaders, play a vital role in delivering academic sessions at events. These are designed to inspire participants about subject areas and give them the chance to learn about new topics they may not have studied at school.

How to Apply

Apply for the Event Supervisor or Session Leader role through our application from on Qualtrics. More information regarding the role is provided in the application.
